Back To Basics Rose Hip Radiance Oil

B2B Last month I had the pleasure of having a few conversations with the founder of Back To Bacis which is a high-quality, affordable unisex product line with elevated, elegant packaging that appeals to everyone in search of effective, pure/natural, and simple skin care. I have to say right off that I asked Manon to describe her line in three words and she said “effective, handcrafted, and plant-based”. Sounds wonderful doesn’t it? Seems fitting since Manon von Csiky-Sessoms started Back To Basics in her New York kitchen.

A few important things to point out about the brand before we dive into my review is that every product is 100% cruelty free, all natural, and made in small batches.

Rose Hip Radiance Oil (1 oz $48) This oil claims to be brightening, hydrating, plumping, soothing, softening, pore minimizing, acne fighting, fades dark marks, and anti-aging. I can confirm that I did see many of those benefits but I think that some of them (pore minimizing/fades dark spots) probably take longer usage before you can really tell. Lets take a look at some of the ingredients: Organic Rosehip, Organic Grape Seed Oil, Seabuckthorn Berry Oil, Organic Camellia Oil, Organic Chia Seed Oil, Jojoba Oil, Tomato Seed Oil, Kiwi Seed Oil. Now that we have that business out of the way let me just tell you the thing I love most about this and that I feel that most of you will as well- it doesn’t stink. If you are like me and love oils I am sure you have tried a Rosehip oil before and you know that it doesn’t smell nice. This oil smells great. It does have a scent so do be aware of that. But, it smells very natural and to me it smells great. It has a very gorgeous dark color to it and its consistency is thick but it absorbs like a dream. I find that a main thing I look for in an oil is that it absorbs nicely, I don’t want to feel like I have a thick film over my face. Also, it plays well with other brands/products. I’ve used this on its own after cleansing and toning, and I’ve also used it under moisturizers with no issues. I find that I will reach for this in the winter more than I have during the summer. It has a shelf life of eight months, luckily. I have dry skin and this seems to address dryness wonderfully. I also have blemish prone skin if a product doesn’t agree with me and I have not had any issues with this product. The ingredients actually are great for blemish prone skin. Overall I have really enjoyed testing this oil out and I will utilize it more as fall and winter roll around as I just feel like it will be incredible in the colder months. If you are looking for a beautiful company to support I highly recommend Back to Basics.

Please note that while this product was gifted by the brand it in no way sways my opinion of the product. All claims made are that of my own.
